Yes, I did make it out to Brooklyn this year. Let's make plans to go next year! Nice to hear from you, sista. Motherhood for a whole year this month! That's a blessing. When Omar, Jr turned 1, I wore a happy birthday tiarra to my job. I even had a cake in the teacher staff room with pictures of my first year as a mother all around it. September 10 is a your day, too. Don't forget to do something special for yourself. BTW, I did the crown and cake thang for the next 3 years. tee hee Love.

I'm from California originally and I don't see too many Alabamians that are into the whole black culture thing. It's a rarity. When I first moved here we didn't even have a coffee shop! Go figure that one!!

Birmingham is a little more hipper than Montgomery. And I think Huntsville is the hippest of them all when it comes to black culture.

Nice to meet a fellow Alabamian.
