I am an artist, activist and director in film and tv who left the security of working in TV in NYC to keep my sister's ATL based non-profit alive. .A passion for change fuels my life. It fueled my sister's life too. She was a Doctor, Classical Singer and a Filmaker Educated at Howard University. A true Renaissance woman.
From Medicine to Music to Movies.....she did it all and started a non-profit in ATL to create excitement about learning through teaching film production.She supported it out of her pocket from 1997 til passing away in April 2008. I dig the whole cast, but it's really great watching Christopher Meloni play the holier-than-thou roughneck cop, Elliot Stabler; and then see him in an equally convincing role as Chris Keller, the manipulative psychopath on Oz.

I know what you mean. Not from personal experience, though. I am working with a friend of mine here at my school. She's a VP major. If I sell my ideas to anyone, it will be to her or someone I can trust just as much. There are certain taboo messages that my scripts have that major production corps would probably blatantly ruin so they wouldn't reach the movie audience.
