haha, nah I have that Switchfoot song Meant To Live, thats the only song I like from them...actually there are a lop of people on my itunes that I have just ONE song from and it's aalooot, so your not alone lol. Oh absolutely RATM is straight-up awsome. I've been addicted to Dream Theater for the past 2 1/2 years, I've listened to them more than anyone else on my list, but before them I was the same way with Rage for about 3 1/2 years haha.
It would be interesting going to an Afro Punk fest. Though I'm not a huuuge punk fan (I like Bad Brains) It would be really cool to check out. Where do you live?

Ahh I see. Yeah I'm new.
I was searching around on wikipedia, and I was reading something on the Dead Kennedys and that lead me here somehow haha.
What are some of your favorite artists? I'm sure you like at least a few lol.
Dream Theater..ahh possibly my favorite band, right beside RATM, they're like Progressive Metal. Yeah you should give them a listen there amazing. If you live in NY you'll have many chances to see them because they play there liek 300 times a month and they never come down here hah.
NC right now sucks. It's getting too hot outside so I gotta stay INside haha.

Yeah. I have to keep busy. I do better in school that way. Theater sounds good-- a lot of my high school friends were into theater. And you can always start a rugby club at your school...there has to be other kids at your school who want to play too.

I got interested in bioengineering when I realized that I wanted to be in the medical/health care industry but still have a more technical aspect. I really want to go into biomechanics and work in orthopedics and prosthetics. My main goal is to be a Professor f Bioengineering/Medicine and do research. What do you want to do your degree?

I'm actually reading Twilight now for a discussion group we're having at the library. It's Ok, but I want to read Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, especially after seeing the movie. I hope there's a book about AfroPunk teenagers someday I can read !

That sounds very good. I want to take some African Studies classes. To tell you the truth, I am not the best at Math but I work hard at it because I need to do well in order to become an engineer. I'm actually really good English too!! I love to write. I joined the National Society of Black Engineers, the Pre-Med Organization for Minority Students, a literary magazine on campus and a club tennis team. Clubs/activities are a great way to meet people.

Since I'm so old-fashioned ( I don't tweet and barely use Facebook), maybe you can give me ideas on what programs or books to have for teens! Good luck in college in the fall!

Being a teen librarian - and dealing with teenagers- can be hard, finding books and planning programs for them that they think are cool, but it's fun helping them find the right book and being around them keeps me current.

My first year was a lot of hard work and a lot of fun. I met a lot of cool people who think like me. My advice is to meet a lot of people and then pick a couple close friends. As far as academics don't shy away from talking to professors and asking for help. That book seems quite interesting. I'll put it on my list of things to read this summer. The bioengineering curriculum overlaps quite nicely with pre-med but is a lot more stressful. I figure if I can handle stress now I can handle it better in medical school. Alice in Wonderland is an awesome book. I've read it toooo many times to count. Haha

I LOVE this site. It's nice to know that other "different" black kids exist. I'm doing fine. I'm finishing up my freshman year in college and getting ready for the summer. Thanks for the compliment on my choice in music : )
I had to read the Grapes of Wrath for school once. I liked it. What are some of yo other favorite books?
P.S. I ♥ your scarf.
