Afro-punk

when i got out of work yesterday, the sun was shining and the air was warm. it seemed like the perfect time to go for a walk. so i asked boyfriend if he would like to take a walk with me. we decided to walk thru the cemetery and onto the golf course near his house. but first he wanted to set up my new mp3 player so we would have something to listen to. the player wasn't connecting and we wasted 2 hrs playing with the thing. when we finally got to walking, the sun was beginning to set...

we walked thru the cemetery, hopping over gravestones. we walked onto the golf course and up the paved paths used for golf carts. we started to walk toward the club house, but two men came out and we switched directions. we saw a little structure made out of stone and trekked toward it. once we reached the stone house, i was ready to turn back home. but boyfriend wanted to walk to the next dome. by the time we made it to that one it was even darker. we didn't have a flashlight and i didn't want to be stuck out in the park after dark, so we started walking toward what we thought was the exit...

we walked over a big hill and finally saw the end of his street. i was ready to run and hop the fence until i saw a pack of animals running toward the homes in the cul de sac (which i mistakenly called a 'circ de soleil', to his amusement). they were either coyotes or wild dogs. there were two big animals that seemd to send a group of about 6 animals in our direction. the two big ones saw us and ran into the woods behind us. we were right out in the open, we could've been eaten! boyfriend tried to reassure me that we saw a flock of birds, but i've watched enough discovery channel shows to know what a pack of dogs looks like...

i got scared and started to power walk out of there. i wanted to hop the fence, but our car was all the way on the other side of the park. it was getting darker and darker, i just wanted to go home. we picked up big sticks in case those "birds" came back to find us. boyfriend kept teasing me about being scared, which only made me angry. there was hardly any light in the sky, and i can't see well in the dark. boyfriend said he could see our car, but i couldn't see a thing. when we finally made it to the car, i was shaking. i was so scared about running into those animals again, and also hadn't walked that far in a long time. boyfriend apologized for making fun of me, but i was still upset. we could've been attacked by coyotes and stuck out in the middle of nowhere in the dark. and you KNOW i don't mess with wild animals [see raccoon incident]. i was just glad to get home safe and not mawled. next time, we're starting our walk early. and we are NOT going that deep into the park....
