Afro-punk

Each day that a friend brings up statements about how far we've come... a guttural sigh immediately develops. I must say that I have actually grown tired of those who choose to turn blind eyes to the this world's truth. No matter how one slices it, the people who get the most press tiptoe around the truth. The truth is normally gritty, so people are taken aback when they are introduced to a concept. The sad part is that those who control the medium of information dissemination grab the truth and unfairly expand it past its original meaning and uses the new preposterous definition to prove that the truth is a perversion of morality on the victim's end. We are sure that Fox News is guilty of such conflation of the truth, but I do not trust many media outlets. I've yet to meet an uninterested party in the media. Now, there are groups who have the same goals but are vying for power. One group wants hope and change, while the other one wants change and hope. I am not sure they understand the meaning of the conjunction "and." It does not denote sequence, so what is the true difference?
Back to the tiptoeing around I guess... I guess that I should ask a question. Who are today's purveyors of truth. Should the truth really be concealed so that one or a group may gain power? Once a person or a group gains "power," are we not aware that the other side to whom you lied must be a part of the decision-making process. You know the good ole separation of powers jive...? Can you manufacture a new war to press the other side into compliance with your agenda? Even if you have "righteous" goals, will it work? We will see when you begin to rest on the balls of your feet...
