Afro-punk

I'm back covering familiar ground again. It's been a long time and I haven't missed it. Dialing endlessly to agencies to see if they will help you, going to the job center to look for work and get on the computer. Trying to file for unemployment in this completely oversatruated system. You call the line to file and it's BUSY???? WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT??? Needless to say I filed on the 23rd and still have yet to see my one funky week check.

I went to an agency about help with the utilities yesterday. I drove over there because no one answers the phone. You usually waste gas doing this to find out they can't help you. They say 'yeah we have funding' now what is the criteria. The man behind the desk tells me 'if you have lost your job in the past 30 days and are getting unemployment.' Yeah thats me. Here's my proof, and here is my bill. Expecting a magic wand to wave and BING it's paid. NNNOOOOOTTTT so fast. Then he starts talking crackead talk about well you have to have gotten your first check from unemployment for us to help you. The letter isn't good enough. Then to add insult to injury he tells me that the past due needs to be paid down before they can help me with the current balance. Now you idiot, if the past due was PAID I wouldn't be here now would I? Damn fruitcake. I think sometimes people just make stuff up to cover that they have drained the funding for their personal expenses.

So now I am sitting in a computer room at a help agency I didn't know existed till yesterday. It's on a side street not far from my house. The thing is when I moved to this part of town I was working and things were fine.. There was no reason for me to know about this place. Turns out along with the food bank. (two big bags of canned and box goods) they have a computer room with like 20 computers and a lady that watches them all day. HOW DO I GET HER JOB!!!! The ceiling is leaking, and the connection is slow but there isn't a soul here. I might put up with the slow speed to get some peace and quiet.

I did however go on a date last weekend with this dude from NY. He is crushworthy. He paid for everything, he drove. Went to see Transformers. Cuddled in the movies. He's a mere 28, but not a knucklehead. He lives an hour away at the moment with relatives because he just moved here and is trying to get a job in the city. He's working a temp job in Tampa.
My friends around the globe have been wiring me cash to survive on till my checks start coming THANK THE LORD! Or I'd be dead already. My friend is wiring me money cause she insists I go out with my movie pals for the 4th and see the fireworks and have dinner to keep my spirits up. She's living with her moms so she doesn't have to struggle like I do.
Mr Pom has been supportive too. Which is nice. I can't wait to murry his ass. (hypothetically of course)
I don't want to break down and start stalking the malls and that cause I hate retail with a passion. Unless it's a stoner job like working at some dusty old rekkid shop, or the counter at a printer. I was considering pulling out my old graphics and slapping together a yahoo website so I can look for graphic work with my work samples uploaded. The leather portfilio doesn't get out much these days. Now, to find someplace that has high speed and photoshop in case I have to shrink stuff.

Had a leak in the apartment in the ac unit and the carpet got all moldy and I started breathing that crap in and now my lúngs are all sore. They have to come and disinfect the carpet and get all the mold out so I dont get sick and die up in that peice. I think tomorrow I am going to see Public Enemies by myself. NYC dude isnt coming up for anything this weekend which is a shame. But whatever. I am so used to being by myself that its really not a big deal. Just another holiday by myself.
Holla @ ya girl
