Midnight by Sistah Souljah

I was so excited when I heard that Sistah Souljah was writing this book "Midnight". While in my Afro Studies class, a female bought up how she portrayed black women in the book. Creole means of mixed white/black descent. They are the descendants of slaves. The maroons however are those who ran away from the plantations, escaped as soon as the slaveships hit land or got freed by others in raids. They did some pretty amazing stuff, you should look that up if you're interested

I was born here. My parents are from Surinam, South America which is a Dutch colony where the official language is Dutch lol but on the streets most people speak the creole language. There are alot of Chinese, Indian & Indonesian immigrants in Surinam. My dads creole & marroon & my moms chinese & indonesian. They moved to Holland after the independace so yeah.. thats how I ended up in this cold ass country.. Is that enough info for you :P
