About Me
i'm a lady, who drinks unreasonable amounts of tea and reads african literature. no me gusta long walks in the park, i prefer an exchange of words in a coffee shop, preferrably zots because they have a LARGE selection of tea.
You can be my friend if...
you have a brain, i kinda like those.
Occupation:
painter, photographer, student, part-time lover, blogger, sister, friend, recycle head, vegan, penny-pincher, reader, writer, buddhist creatrix. there's more ... i think. to live consciously/wakefully is a COMPLETE occupation. i'm not a guru in that area, although i strive to be. on paper i'm a graphic designer, by nature i'm a hardcore student.
Favorite bands:
currently MINE. this wonderful band is currently in the making, however, the love is there. kind of like a pregnant mother who has yet to see her child's face. the love is there ... i feel it already.
Favorite movies:
Watchmen, The Pianist, Phantom of the Opera, any well created war movie, Sometimes in April, A Clockwork Orange, Pocahontas, Requiem for a Dream, Borat, et cetera...
Favorite books:
More like favorite authors, one person surprisingly has shaped a lot of what I read today ... : Anais Nin, Frantz Fanon, J.M. Coetzee, Steinbeck, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Lucille Clifton, Philip Roth, Sylvia Plath, Kate Chopin, Jane Austen, Ayi Kwei Armah, Malcolm Gladwell, Woodson, Junot Diaz, et cetera ...
Favorite Magazines:
don't read those. however, i do a LOT of collaging ... my fave mags 2 cut up are the high-end mags ... lovely ads...
Favorite TV shows:
i totally do NOT watch TV. however, once every blue moon i'll watch robot chicken, maybe cnn ...
Relationship status:

I like them. I like the idea of having a punk feel to it. You ever listen to Alice Coltrane?

Are there any influences you'd like to incorporate?

That sounds good. I'd really like to play with a drummer but if we didn't find one, it wouldn't be so bad if you're looking to experiment. I think we could make a pretty cool sound without a precussionist. Maybe trade the traditional rhythm instruments for the ones we have. And it doesn't hurt that two singers are involved.

To be honest, I'm supposed to be moving to New York sometime next year. I don't know when but it wouldn't make since for me to get a new job.
