About Me
I am a comic book writer from southern california. I'm a Unitarian Universalist. I'm not a punk but I just found this site and thought a lot of the bands were cool. The comic I'm working on is about a black punk girl and I had no idea there was a scene that she'd fit into so perfectly. That is awesome. I read a lot. I listen to weird music and I like to argue.
You can be my friend if...
you like comics and weird music, or if you are a toe tall haw tee.

Favorite bands:
What do I mean by weird music? Well, here is a list of some bands currently in rotation:

Marcy Playground
Insane Clown Posse
Alanis
George Jones
Divisible <-- check them out. They rock. Not punk music but still awesome.
Mindless Self Indulgence
TechN9ne
Rasputina
Clouddead
Pop Will Eat Itself
My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
TV On The Radio
King Gordy
Tori Amos
Billie Holiday
Massive Attack(with or with out tricky)
Tricky (with or with out massive attack)
Gaelle
Portishead
PJ Harvey
Corporate Avenger
Zug Izland
Sade
Collide
India.Arie
Hed PE

As you can see "weird" doesn't necessarily describe every band I like but rather the patterns in which I like music. I don't really get into specific styles but rather certain elements. I love good story telling in music. I love things that change or that break genre standards.

Parable of the Sower / Parable of the talents by Octavia Butler
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Hellblazer: Hold Me by Neil Gaiman and Dave Mckean

It sounds like you had a blast. It doesn't seem weird that the question of racism got run over. People in this country have a hard time dealing with racism, especially people who have benefitted most from it. You, Rob, are different. Thank you for sharing. I am so glad that you went. The way you talk about it, maybe one year I'll go. Well.... naaaaw. Blessings, Roberto. (I grew up w/ a Roberto, btw. It just feeeeeels right.)
