My $0.02 on Cudi's Album...

Alright, so here's my verdict on the Kudi- I like it. The songs are all written from a vulnerable and intropective place but the hooks give the songs a bigness that belies their subject matter. When I heard that this was going to be a concept album split into five suites I was like "Uh-oh, Another new artist has overdosed on the his own hype kool-aid and will inevitably be crushed by the weight of his own ambition". Well, that sort of happens here, but Kudi's genuine personality prevents it from… Continue

The President's Black, So Now What?

At around 10:45pm Tuesday night I was pulsing through the subterranean arteries of what is considered the capital of the freeworld. My wish was to leave my job earlier so that I could go home and watch the play by play progress as all of the votes were coming in. But like so many Americans, work sometimes takes a bigger chunk out of our lives than we would like. The average person is probably not thrilled to devote so much of their time to the service of someone else everyday but ultimately a se… Continue

Yesterday, I was working my ass off! I was doing it big time at my school, handlin all kind of stuff, like the queen I am. And what words did I quietly sing all day? They can never take this away from me. Imma stand by my vision faithfully. Just pray for me. I'm still on my grind everyday. I'm on my grizzly. Yeah! Peace, Po.
