About Me
Black JuJu formed as a southern rock/hardcore band. We don't really care how you feel about our music, if it speaks to you, great. And if not then too bad. The point is to stay punk and D.I.Y. Support your scene no matter how under accessible or over accessible it is. That is to say, it doesn't matter if you live in the middle of nowhere or in a major city. You don't have to listen to punk or hardcore or any of that shit to have a punk mentality. Just constantly be honest with yourself and those around you and remember that how you view your world along with your desires isn't just the most precious thing you'll ever own, but that knowledge of yourself is the only thing you'll fully own. Life is not in chapters so much as it is steady and continuous until the end, and when the time comes for all of us, all that will matter is what you stood for. The only lasting impact you can have on the world around you is your attitude toward it. Our ability to embrace our culture as something beyond a subtext is very near and dear to us. We play music in a peak-a-boo scene, where you're heard then seen and if you don't look the part people are either intrigued or deterred.
Our existence as a band is compiled frustration and heartache and we feel that our music and lyrics embraces and projects a message of that 10x over. We make music to encourage our peers to continue on strong with their passions because no matter how difficult, how over blow, how grim, or how fucked up things in life are, there will be a moment to catch your breath. A day of relief may never come, and all you can ask for is a long breath and the strength to press on toward and forward. You may have never had it hard a single day in you life, and if so, appreciate the hell out of it. For the rest of us; we'll keep going. Because one day all of your passions will be worth/amount something great.... Black JUJU
