I just read CocoaPussZine's last blog post. She ended it with "the strong Black woman is a myth". Amen! We are delicate and vulnerable, too. I immediately thought of an email sent to me by Rosenda. Time in which someone makes it a priority to earmark a day or or a certain amount of time so I can share information with them that I have been holding in and hurting myself with for 3-4 months now. That fucking hurts and really pisses me off. I'm tired of tiptoeing around being all sensitive and shit when I'm having to deal with needs in my life, even just basic friendship needs, on my own and I need some feedback and information from the others side of the depression pond. You feel me? I give a few days to see if I get the appointment call from that office or I have to call the office and DEMAND the APPOINTMENT.

At 11:42am on December 14, 2009, NotSoPhotogenic said…: Thank you, CaliforniaAfrican. You are far too kind! : ) The reason I call myself NotSoPhotogenic is because I tend not to photograph too well. There are a million people out there who, for some reason, tend to not look all that great in photos, and I'm one of them (at least in my opinion). Some of the unphotogenic people I've known are literally stunning in person, but for some reason certain lightings/angles/expressions are less flattering to them. In terms of my own looks, I'm not the best thing in the world to look at, but I'm certainly not the worst thing, either. I definitely think I look better in person than in photos. Anyway, that's about it. Just aesthetics (and probably vanity issues, too), plain and simple. Peace.
