Blaring horns, nasty drum breaks and percussion, and some serious syncopation. Add to that some innovative bass melody chops, chunky/scratchy guitars, sweet soulful vocals with with loud gospel-esque preaching.
For heads who like lo-fi, noisy, underground hardcore,
post-hardcore, noiserock, screamo, etc. Bands like
Yaphet Kotto, Acts of Sedition, Swing Kids, Bikini Kill, Heroin, City of Caterpillar,
Huggy Bear, etc. That really raw wall of sound shit.
