Okay CA we gotta be walking/running buddies soon. I'm gonna call you and say when!! I never thought about asking somebody else to help do what I'm supposed to be doing on my own!

Lyfen that was me too on up through my early 30's. I spent the entire 80's going out at least 4 to 5 nights a week dancing and to shows of all kinds. And when I mean clubbing here is the routine, me and my friends would get there when the places opened and stay til they closed. And frankly......I spent all but about 20 minutes on the dancefloor. It was fun as hell and I so enjoyed it. I also used to go iceskating and rollerskating a lot year round and bowling sometimes too.

I didn't gain major weight and slow down until I hit 30 and was married to a chef. Boy did we eat a lot and not go anyplace. Ha ha it was fun. Anyway these past few years slowed me down so bad my health and energy are low.

I was never stick thin even when I was in college years I had curves. But I think what bothers me now is really my energy and health. When I met my man I was still thick but I was exercising and felt good.

Getting in shape just means feeling good! Not necessarily getting smaller.
Cause in my family everyone has curves and the men love it, that I can tell.

That's funny what you said about dating guys who couldn't dance a lick.
I did too but I went dancing with my friends who could and I didnt care about anything but dancing and getting into that otherworld trance like happiness, grooving til past 2am on the killer house music in those loud clubs. I had soooooo much fun. And same at the loud ass rock and punk and new wave and hip hop shows. Grooving and dancing to the sounds and rhythms.

Grrrrrl.......I went to a KILLER Ska show one of my favorite bands with some good friends. One of them was my buddy we used to to go dancing EVERYWHERE (I mean it, house music, soul music, disco, rock, punk, latin, etc etc). We was jamming to the ska and grrrrl, I started dancing SO HARD for the loooongest time that I felt my chest sieze up and I got out of breath!!

I was so happy but I was so embarrassed because I NEVER used to get tired or out of breath back in the day. That is my goal, to dance all night as much as I want anywhere I go without getting out of breath. :)

It was hilarious I was so damn happy, and the show was on my birthday too, and I laughed when I was back at work because my feet and legs hurt for two days straight. HA!

Growing up I was always athletic, and in dance classes 4 x a week from age 8 to age 14. That's all I did for excercise and it was fun to me. When I got into high school mom couldn't afford lessons anymore so I started clubbing and street dancing. I did that till I was about 24. At 24 I started dating guys who couldn't dance a lick and that's when I started gaining weight. Sitting home watching movies and eating junk food. My crew started thinning out and the scene was stale anyway. I was uninspired. I hate going to the gym more than the GYNO or dentist combined. I have joined over the years but it's such an artificial experience to me. I don't like men in my space when I am working out either. The funny thing is once I gained weight I had a whole new perspective on my womanness. Felt powerful at last. I'll get in shape again of course, but that powerful feeling stays.

Grrr thanks for your recent suggestion. Being thick and healthy is a goal for me. Hey I'll call you soon. Happy Momma's Day!! You know what......you are so right about our body views when we were younger. I used to dissolve my body in voluminous things that hid my body cause I was uncomfortable showing it. So true! Frankly...no matter what ups and downs are with me and my man, he is the first guy I've known who ever made me feel sexy as I am.

GPRocker good clip there. Also there is that classic Queen tune "Fat Bottomed Girls". That was so cute back in the day!! ;)
