@chelles most shops will try to talk you out of finger and hand piercings or just not do them at all. theyre extremely easy to tear and get infected. pretty much the only way to keep them is if you just have nothing to do and no pockets for the entire healing period. also if you do, might i recommend not doing it on you dominate hand. but as for the nape, id say go for it!

@ceaser what does it feel like...i dont think i have an answer for that. not much different than the like i suppose. i will say i attempted to go a few sizes at once and that sucked...like super donkey balls. luckily i was using a taper...tada! i just slipped on the rings where i was and a few days later went the rest of the way. granted i had to sleep in them and that's not always comfortable.
@chelles im so glad you mentioned this. ive been thinking about getting a barbell between the eyes...a bridge, is that right? and i want to get my neck done, but i gotta get the tat first :) ive recently heard a lot of bad stuff about infections too. do share afropunk nation!!

hello all, just had some questions regarding surface piercing. i really want to get my wrist, nape and finger pierced, but i heard from a few ppl that infections is inevitable when piercing such places. is this true? please fill me in on your experiences, both good and bad. i have quite a few piercing now, but im beginning to get bored w/ them. i'd add to my tattoos but i honestly dont have the cash to do what i'd like. anyway, any comments, suggestions, advice would be greatly appreciated.

ohhh ok coool.thanks red rebel.what does the stretching process feel like?are they hard to get it?

@ceaser tapers kind look like a cone and start typically a few sizes or so smaller than what your desired outcome will be. the ones i typically use have the rubber bands on either side which is the only thing about them i dont like. i ALWAYS lose them. you can find them at any piercing place, but not the commercial stores...well not that often. in my town most of the places i find them are primarily tat shops.

@Asha The thing about the sweet spot in my case was that the spot wasn't flattering on me, so low even small jewelry was grazing my upper lip. I'd just take the pain and aim for better placement.

@ red rebel yeah i wanna go kinda big but my ears aren't that large so i wanna hit 00 and see how it looks.cause a 3/4ths is gangsta haha.
i keep hearing about tapers but i have no clue what they are.

@ceaser lube and tapers works wonders. i use dial soap for cleaning and ive never had a prob. how big are you going to go? im at a six, which is where i said i would stop when i started, but now that im here im thinking a 00 would be minimum! im hooked...

just got my septum done a week ago.when it initially went through it didnt hurt but goin out the other end succkkkeeedd major.lol.but the healing process isnt bad. just the 1st 3 days whomp.after after that i was a-ok.
