Well, Id say check out the digital thang.. What can it hurt, right... They aint exactly cheap for Digital SLR, but when you add in film price processing cost over a period of time, it kinda balances out. If your curious, Id say go for it.. Im not hardcore one way or another. You gotta Mac, I've heard they excell @ the whole graphic thang, so it might be right up your alley... This is what im working with...

I definatly recommend it, but I will say I'm not expert @ all... I've seen a lot of Cannon stuff comparably priced. IMHO it seems to be Nikon & Cannon as major competitors for the DSLR market. Just from my limited research. I can say they both make quality stuff. Look @ the Nikon product chart I listed here to see the specs on all of their models. Im sure someone here is more versed on other models than I.

Film stuff is fluxuating right now... I got a a my black & silver FT2 for arounf $30, but the all black ones I've seen are going for up to $300. I guess it just depends on your taste. I bought myself a Nikon D70 in december. The digital thing is a bit daunting, but it is easier to experiment with. An actual photographer I know suggested the D70 as it very versitle can be found at a decent price... If you wanna stay in film, I dont know.. Im sorta stuck on Nikon. Ive seen some joints that used to cost a whole lotta dough, for like a couple of hundred bucks if that!

What Ive seen is that you can get deals on film cameras including lenses from folk who are going digital. These lenses can be used on digital cameras alot of the time, you just have to focus manually... You can get some higher quality lenses for cheap!

Try craigslist for local stuff that you can inspect before you buy if you're nervous about buying stuff sight-unseen.

I still have some film joints. I replaced my all Black Nikkormat FT2

(I tried to find another Black one & that sucker goes for over $300! WTF?!?) with a Black & Silver for like $35, Also picked up a Nikon N70

on a whim for $21! Still have my brothers Olympous OM1 Which was the last manual I used... I have yet to shoot with the film joints I just got.... I guess I will do a couple of rolls to make sure they work, huh?

I like that Minolta.. I used to want 1 of those in high school! That & the mighty infamous Pentax K1000!!! ;-)
