oooh ok b/c I thought you were talking about everyday moisturizers, not the "curl-defining" ones. as for that miss jessie's stuff, I was tempted to try it for a little bit because I do have ringlets but I feel like it's chemically altering the hair more than anything. I'm not exactly sure though

The hair cremes like miss jessie's and curl custard to define and lengthen the hair. But I heard Miss Jessie's curly pudding is for hair with ringlets already in it, it won't do much for 4b hair. Perhaps curly buttercream does. Idk.

I didn't mean using moisturizers was unnatural or anything like that. :p I was more talking about the curl enhancing products. Some people want their hair to have defined ringlets of great stretch when it's not those types.

Moisture is natural! :p

Mlle d. Sade when you say moisturizers, what do you mean?
Dixie Mason Comment by Dixie Mason on November 4, 2009 at 11:19pm
Your hair needs moisture. I don't think that makes you not natural... but a lot of people DO fight their natural hair texture, which defeats the purpose of going natural. They want their hair to do what some other girl's hair is doing, but you hair will do what it was born to do... some people can't accept that.

Aahhh....well...I guess I'm not completely natural since I do use moisturizers lol!! I could not use them I suppose...but ummm...no! Different strokes for different folks, I am more natural then I was before that's for sure and I think that's good enough for me.
Mlle d. Sade Comment by Mlle d. Sade on November 4, 2009 at 8:45pm
People never want their own hair, tho. And when they do go natural they want it to do things it's not supposed to like have nice defined ringlets. Hence moisturizers.

Girl I know! I was looking in this hair magazine recently and I was like...wait....that's weave?!??! Hopefully more ladies will give their own hair a chance! I honestly wouldn't have until I saw this group and a couple of other online sites!! And I have never been more pleased with my own hair! Even when I straighten it, it's soooo much more healthier and shiny! I guess I had to get away from the stigma of the relaxer...I never knew I didn't "NEED" it!

Candace, there are a lot of women out there torturing their heads or buying hair to look like that... lol. It's so funny how hard it is for people to appreciate nature. You look great though.
