Anybody know how to add links. I tried using the symbol above the comment box but it didn't work. BTW, the website for the movie is www.11thhourfilm.com

I just watched this documentary called the 11th Hour. I was wondering if anyone had seen it. I found it very thought provoking.

Peace Polar ^_^

Indeed. What are we leaving to those that come after us? Excellent question. We have a responsibility to the planet and our descendants.
Interesting that you mentioned veganism is fun. It is. I'm loving the different recipes I can play around with. I wasn't feeling cooking on this level previously.

Also, in addition to the cheese substitutes I have to seriously recommend Vegenaise. INSANE. Seriously. It's an incredible mayonaisse substitute. It's actually even better than Hellman's somehow.
I've been experimenting with alot of the offerings at Veganessentials.com and Veganstore.com
There's so much more to this world than we've ever realized and I'm honored to be a part of the generation rediscovering that. I know it will take time for folks to catch on, but I'm hoping that takes place sooner than later.

Continue to shine

Yeah, I definately feel you on a lot of the dairy substitutes. You gave some good suggestions for cheese. I'll have to explore those more. I've pretty much done without cheese for a while. But I love vanilla soymilk. It's so much better than cow milk in my opinion. I think a lot of people would be pleasantly suprised at how fulfilling and fun it is to be vegan or vegetarian. There are so many foods and dishes that I probably would've never tried If hadn't switched over.

At the moment I don't drive. I get around quite fine living in the city. That's one of the things I like about the city. We share the resources more and most people walk, bike or use public transit. But hybrids and electric cars are the way to go and if I ever decide to buy a house, my home will have to be sustainable. I think it's really important for people to at least be thinking about how they can make things better.Even if you just buy those funny looking lightbulbs, at least that's a start.

Humanity is in a great place because we are in a position to see the error in our ways. We are finding a means to use the same technology that contributed to a lot of this mess as a way to correct many of our mistakes. We really don't need to consume animal products. I know it's hard for most people to accept that but the impact on the enviroment is way to huge now. It was different in the past when we had different farming methods. But everything is set up to feed meat to larger population of people and it is devastating to the earth. It's not going to be an overnight thing. People just have to get information and just start planting seeds for change in their minds. What are we leaving behind for the people that are coming up after us?
