Orlando is definetely eh for music but if you're willing to drive there are a lot of great shows and venues in the tampa bay area. Here are some that I frequent often:

The Orpheum
State Theater
Jannus Landing
The Garage
Crowbar
Czar
Ruth Eckerd Hall
Skipper's

Make sure to check the webpages for these venues as I've found that shows aren't always posted on ticketmaster etc. Hope this helps all you show deprived Orlandonians.

Soliliquists of Sound played new years eve downtown. But that's the only band I have seen in ages that I would even bother with. Orlando is pretty mainstream.
