I love VNV Nation. I think it's love or hate with this band, because my friend can't stand them...lol

Welcome everybody, and thanks for posting (yay to 100 members now!).

Thanks for the vid, Heretic. I never heard that band before. Cool stuff.

Dunno if anyone will be into this but I decided to start really making music this summer, and it happened when I got into electro/dance music. Also about the same time I got into hip hop. So of course I'm sort of merging the two. I really like old school hip hop where they experimented more and it was at a faster tempo. It was just a different style of hip hop, too. I like today's, but it's just kinda different.

I'm most inspired by artists who mix it up like Peaches, Lady Sovereign, M. I. A., Amanda Blank, etc. Female artists who aren't afraid to take chances.

I've got some of my stuff on my profile. I try not to rely to heavily on sampling.

I've been off and on with Afro Punk over the years, but I'm feeling it these days, so here I am.

I'm currently going through an 80s nostalgia kick, checking out bands that are exploring the same soundscape I enjoyed when I first discovered bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, and New Order.

My current favorite is a French band called M83. Their song "We Own The Sky", from the album Saturdays=Youth is one of the best of this offshoot of Electronica I've run across this year:

Got a chance to catch Danny Krivit 718 sessions the other day on satellite radio. Check it out if you like house music. Good shit!

Derrick May- Strings of Life

DJ Rap did an acoustic version of it. Also a good song.
