Sounds like a plan Marcus.... Let us know... Im in Bronzeville but I usually dont have a n issue getting up north... It'll be even less of an issue the warmer it gets...!

Yes the Mos Def show got re-scheduled!!!! Much to my freinds dismay because it was her birthday weekend!!! Oh well... I guess I will see y'all on the 13th!!!

I thought that show was supposed to be a couple days ago? I guess they must've changed the date. This guy I used to work with was talkin about going to the show. Now that I think about it, I should invited him to join this group.

@Kemet - perhaps we should pick a day and a place and invite people to show up if they feel like it. Same place/same day week after week. I stay by Five Star and Twisted Spoke. I'm a little ways from Simone's. I'm thinkin Thursday might be a good day. One day you might show up and there'll be 4 others. Another day 10. Another day just you. Who knows. But that'll be the spot. Let me know what you think.

I like charles' idea about the compilation ep. That should happen.

Is anyone going to the DOOM / Mos Def show on Feb 13th?

Marcus that seems to be the order of the day.... Chicago used to have a poppin scene in the days of the old boards Pre 2006.. We 'actually' met up & hung out & kicked it! We had 4-6 bands that gigged kinda regular & we would come to each others gigs if we werent gigging together (Like the infamous Blackapalooza @ the now defunct Big Horse or the AP show @ the now defunct Texas Ballroom! We even kicked it out of town!! Courtney Crime invited us down to Clarksville TN to Austin Peay University to do an AP show... The Haterz, Bushoong, Illiaziam (Small Changed tried to come but couldnt swing it) all trooped down there to play for not so much as a plug nickel!!! (As well as Nick Maclin's Hustitute from Philly!!! It was a great show!!! We had more fun hanging out than we did playing!! lol It was quite a time!!! There was another band called With Lights & Sirens who I believe were invited out to NY to play @ the AP fest) I do miss it so!

Last time we got together in any numbers was the Living Colour show which was a blast! I went to the so-called AP show with Saul Williams & I didnt see 1 person I knew from AP! That was a bit strange to me, but hey what ever...

My band, Bushoong is back together & working on new material... So hopefully I can invite y'all out pretty soon... Study long, ya study wrong.. lol

Let me know when & what y'all gonna/wanna do!

Tell me more about your vision. Sorry I've been submerged in other life concerns. Send me a message or somethin, so I can see where I can contribute.

Thanks marcus for the group, as i said before we need to start interacting we each other more, i hear of a lot of i can play this instrument or i can play that we need, to start forming bands locally and start the bands like what new york did and dc did in the eighties. We also need to start our own record label, or record a ep compaltion of the afro bands from chicago, we cant depend on new york. shit i got recording equiment mulitrack its not the best but lets do this thing. I hear a lot of talk but lets do it, remember DIY ethics. Marcus and Calvin you should be the face of this since you have the most experince with afro punk, hit me up people what you think!
