Kool story.I got into punk when I first heard Iggy Pop and later the Ramones. I was obsessed with the style and the songs. So fucking catchy, short, and powerful. I never was a punk though. I was the black kid with long straight hair at the punk show and then eventually the black kid from that band who throws the punk shows and after that it was "Hey mister can we play your next show! We're the bestes punk/hardcore band evah!"
Growing up in one of the highest hate group concentrated areas in the country it was no surprise that I was confronted by skin heads at these shows. But they were harmless an were fun to pick on. Eventually they became friends and fans and wore their little anti-racism patches on their arms like all the other kids who stitched them on their jackets to look more punk rock.
