...my worst misheard lyric: "i got to take a minute to straighten my face 'cause the smell of fat chicks just put my spine out of place" -- it's actually "this mellow-thighed chick" whatever that means. smh. tbh though i laugh every time i hear the line. (bowie-suffragette city)

...'xcuse me while I kiss this guy!

My five year old daughter sings, "Should I give up? Or should I just keep chasing CAVEMEN." Which, ya know, lol.

Jimmie Hendrix - Purple Haze

Actual lyric: "Excuse me while I kiss the sky."

What I heard: "Excuse me while I kiss this guy"

There's a book with that title with a funny pic on the cover about misheard lyrics.

I actually have that book. :-) Some of the lyrics are funny and plausible, others...not so much.
One I remember as being cute was, "the ants are my friends, and they're blowing in the wind." Then it had a cute little cartoon of ants blowing away.

A funny misheard lyric comes from AC/DC's "Let's Get It Up":

Misheard lyric "..On par with my lebanese"
Real lyric "...a pirate of my lovin needs"

Another one comes from Metallica's "One":

Misheard lyric "..Tied to machines that make me pee"
Actual lyric "...Tied to machines that me be"

Children are the best misheard/misspoken lyric artists.

When Kirk Franklin's "Stomp" came out my nephew would say "soap" or "tope".

I can't think of any right now but I mishear ALL the time.

Peter Gabriel's Shock the Monkey:

Me: "Monkey, 2 months at sea..."
real: "Monkey, too much at stake..."

I like mine better ; P
