I agree wholeheartedly with the1st reponse (by that sista).
It requires compromise. That word is very important. COMPROMISE.
You don't realize how selfish you are until you get married.
Counseling is not a dirty word.
NEVER base your opinion on marriage from OTHER people's relationships.
It doesn't matter if it was your momma, your sista, your ex (even).
The biggest mistake people make is judging a present relationship/ or preventing themselves from starting one because of what they FEAR may happen. Or what they saw others go through.
I, especially, find that way-of-thinking to be highly prevelant among young folks, today.

Ofcourse, you should mature (before getting married).
There's nothing wrong with "doing you".
But,... growing WITH a person is just as sweet.
