Afro-punk

i've been in the bad habit of looking up places like Lookbook.nu and /fa/ (4chan's fashion page" and looking for male "thinspiration"

just something to make me feel bad for the fact that i'm now at 5'11 and 240lbs (when i moved to indy, i was 190-200), when i wish i was 60 lbs less.

i've tried running since i moved to indy, but the first time i did, some guy threw a starbucks cup full of ice directly at the back of my head. ever since then, i've been nervous about doing any sort of exercise

has anyone else ever been through this??? any tips or advice or whatever???

Um.. .you don't have to have big muscles. Lifting weights does not equal big muscles. Any one with big muscles took YEARS to get them, if you don't want them you won't get them. Also, that's a really dumb stereotype of dudes with big muscles. Maybe they have physical jobs or maybe they want to feel good about themselves and their health so they do something and achieve it. ..is that it, are you jealous? So you call them pieces of shit?

You should get rid of that, it's a worthless emotion.

i hate big muscles, i mean HATE them. every time i see a dude with big muscles, i assume he's a massive piece of shit. i'm more interested in losing weight, not adding muscle and looking like a complete piece of shit.

I agree. Add muscle. Don't pay attention to numbers on the scale.

I don't like sounding like an after-school special (heh, I barely remember those!), but people who go out of their way to mete out violence towards others whom they'd otherwise consider "lesser-thans" are usually trying to nurse their own wound of some kind. It's a diverson tactic for those who aren't wholly at peace with themselves, muscles or not. Not asking for empathy on their behalf (every now and then, even in my adult life, folk will try to test my mettle because they can't stand to see me so comfortable and at ease in all my glorious scrawniness), but it comes with the territory sometimes, simply because you exist. It gets easier when you learn to live in your own skin comfortably; if others have a problem with it, that doesn't make it your problem.

Self-hate seems excessive to me, especially when there's always a line of strangers waiting in queue to knock your block off, if only for the abritrary sake of [a coward's brand of] aggression.

I've had a gun pulled on me twice (not counting cop-related incidents) in my lifetime, both times by guys in middle school who merely took me for a pushover, based on physical attributes (or shortcomings, as they might have seen them). One of the guys now plays for the San Antonio Spurs. I won't say I'm a hundred percent over it, but I laugh when I think about it now. Ol' boy might be financially secure these days, but beyond that I highly doubt he's worthy my envy/energy.

Nevermind next-man's muscles, five-wheeled Ferrari, or whatever. Your body's your temple; might not be what you want, but you can change that, to some degree. Till then, it's all you've got; might as well live in it as comfortably as you can, 'cause it's all you've got in this lifetime.

My apologies if that was too preachy for your taste.

I hear ya on the random shit being thrown at you or being hollered at when outside running about.
Don't let it stop you though CM88. Keep on going, make a schedule on what days you'll go out and go out there anyway even if you are hesitant or scared of that lame shit happening. Don't ever let that stop you....if you can, find another area or park to run in near your area. Or if you got to take the bus or drive to some further area to find a spot you feel comfortable running and walking in, DO IT.

You are worth it and keep telling yourself you are. People do stupid shit to other strangers and you cannot let that stop you from doing exercise that is good for you to take better care of yourself and lose weight. Fuck them. Keep on going Man!!!!!

Lookbook.nu

Why are all the kids on this site dressed like immigrants? Christ. I know I rag on you from time to time dude, but Seriously...You' shouldn't envy any of these kids.

God I hate hipsters.

Man, this is like the whitest website online. By far! 2nd Place goes to stormfront lol. All the chicks are all pale and gross...

I JUST started to enjoy lookbook.nu and polyvore. I'm always like 24 steps behind everyone else with these things. I've been making a set on polyvore for the last hour.
My favorite look on lookbook.nu is Built For Sin: that little girl from Hamburg (forget her name) has some serious cosmetic and fashion skillz.

Oh look a black guy http://lookbook.nu/look/369669-SKY-CANDY

and another http://lookbook.nu/look/368089-Mon-Escalier

I'm not bothered by the race thing (hey fashion sites like lookbook and chictopia blacks are indeed in the minority so this isn't new). I do notice the thinness lol everyone is so thin.
