Condoms can break and do nothing for my period/hormonal issues- I take it for more reasons than just constant reproduction control.
And one day, if I get into a serious, committed relationship (**snort**) I'd like to be able to do it without a condom or diaphragm w/o getting knocked up.
Besides my reasons for preferring the pill (promise of fewer periods a year, as well) I realize that even off the pill my sex drive will be low because as one of the cursed creature (woman) my sex drive is affected by more than hormones so it makes little difference that way, I'd still be not able to do it comfortably even if I wasn't on the pill.
Ah well, can't have your cake and eat it, too. The cake can't even have iicing on it so forget about sprinkles.
Yeah. Although birth control can casue havoc, if you're on them for other hormonal Reasons, ie. PCOS- keep on the PILL . ANd try to do other things outside of the hormonal spectrum to increase your sex drive.
Also , here in the NY . Women who dont have children dont qualify for any type of IUD. It could be a national regulation , but check with your local doctor.

Mlle de Sade, ask the gynecologist for a low dosage birth control pill. they are supposed to be just as effective but not as harsh on the hormone side effects. My friend Janelle did this.....and she also told me it is common for the doctors who give the birth control pills to give you the medium or high dosage pills first, and then they wait for the patient to tell them if the side effects are too much and you have to ask them for a lower dosage.
Actually Strat, a coworker of mine who has Kaiser insurance out here as the new IUD and Kaiser health ins does indeed pay for it and she has never had children. That is different set up than having your insurance with Blue Shield and other, because when I had Blue Shied and I tried the pill, I had to fucking pay for it out of my pocket for the four months I used it.
So I definitely plan on the IUD whenever I am that active again with someone sexually and feel I need a reliable birth control without the fucked effects that i got on The Pill too. Also I am not a pill popper, so it's too easy for me to forget taking it.
