Bro, now that you've spoken up, you now exist!! You can't be the only one. Where's Sauda and BlackJohn and other Toronto folks? They out there somewhere.

I read the title and I was like, "What's a T dot?" I never knew Toronto had a Hip-Hop nickname. Shows how square I am.

Hey! Whatever happened to Sauda ? She just like disappeared.

Oh yea, everybody here calls this place the T-dot. Many different folks claim to have originated that tag, but most agree that our man Kardinal Offishall came up with it in this joint, "Bakardi Slang." This song is kinda like our equivalent to Big L's "Ebonics."

Sauda and her brother Black John (who you may also know from the boards and who is one of my homies) and the rest of their family moved to a town just north of here called Hamilton, which is sort of to us what Albany is to folks in NYC. She's in school and trying to maintain employment, like plenty of other younger folks her age. i don't really get to see her that often anymore, tho i do see John on the regular......he escapes to Toronto every chance he gets.

Oh yea, definitely. How you like the american mid-west? Different world from Toronto or MTL, no doubt.

Oh shit, you grew up right at the corner of queen and spadina? CRAZY!!

Yea, i been in Toronto most of my life, since 1979, when my family migrated here from South America. i would have been four years old then. This has been my primary home base most of my life, although i did spend 2 1/2 years in Vancouver and i did used to spend big chunks of summertimes in NYC when i was a kid, and i've gone back to Chile a few times and spent some time in other parts of Latin America (Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Mexico, Cuba and Ecuador.)

i have plenty of love for this place, but i'm definitely ready (not to mention long overdue) for a change of scenery, which i have good reason to believe may be coming soon. We should definitely link up next time you're in town!!

i'm sure St. Louis MUST be a crazy contrast......i've definitely heard plenty of stories about how segregated and openly racist it is over there. i also know that it was Josephine Baker's home town, and that it was the site of some of the worst race riots targeting the city's Black population back in the earlier part of the 20th century.
