Afro-punk

Hey y'all. I'm new on this board. Just wanted to introduce myself. Born up upstate NY raised in BK.

I spent 5 years in and around a circus tent. If you ever wanted to know what it's like to run away and join the circus, just ask I'll tell you everyting you need to know.

Right now I'm workin and going to school.
Anything else you wanna know feel free to ask.

Peace!

The circus?
Crazy, hard work, almost intolerable conditions but soo much fun. Its like being in another world where time seems to move at double speed. When you leave the circus you kinda have to retrain yourself in order to function in the real world again.

A circus lot is like a traveling village. We have portable showers and a cookhouse. I didnt work for Ringling Bros. so I didnt live on a train. Our homes were trailers and RVs. Everything was on wheels. A huge tent that seats almost 1200 people gets rolled up and packed onto a flat bed tralier.

I made alot of friends there. Did alot of things I probably wouldn't have anywhere else (and will probably never do again).

There are some people who are born into circus life and love it and raise their kids in it and the kids raise their kids and so on and so on for generations. Then there are those who just work for a season (or less) and never look back. It was an amazing experience, but I dont think I could spend my entire life there.
