The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency (tv film and series)

Love it. Love it. Love it. It's making me miss the motherland.

So glad the BBC decided to make a series. Jill Scott is so good in this. Seriously she's perfect for the role.

Lesy and Foxy, yes that's the one. I just borrowed it from a friend. It was SO good.

And Foxy I can't wait to see the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, it's supposed to start out here in a week or two.

i didn't love nor hate the watchmen, it was decent. i think i'm just bored with super sci-fi special effects and what-not. i'm also bored with 3 hour movies, i fell asleep on the last 10 mins (somebody let me know how it ends). i understand you probly needed that whole 3 hrs to get in all the story from the graphic novel.

what i don't understand is the excessive blue dangly bits. i always get psyched when they show male frontal nudity in films, but this time i was disappointed. and the sex scenes were dumb. but nothing beats the sex scene from underworld 3: rise of the lycans, that jesus pose tops it all!

The Seventh Seal (1957) ... philosophy x film
The Hustler (1961) w/ Paul Newman ... american youth "rebel" dude angst that isn't too annoying

both stand up really well to time.

U-Carmen e-Khayelitsha:

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

It is SOOOOO beautiful sound and visually. It's the classic opera tale from Carmen, only it's set in South Africa and it is sung in the local dialect. IT'S AMAZING!!!! Even if you don't know opera, YOU'LL LOVE IT. It's a great and beautiful film.

I love the scene where the women are dancing out in the courtyard by the market and bar, and then the men start singing .

Planet B-Boy. This was only half as good as it could have been, because there were no female B-girls or crews featured. Hopefully the filmmaker is coming out with another flick ala Pumpng Iron II. The movie focuses on 4 crews from different parts of the globe competing in what looks like a Euro based breaking superbowl. The best dance sequences occur when the crews are just bugging out at home or in the park as opposed to doing a lot of choreographed routines.

Too Real for TV presents Cross Country vol. I
Lots of loose footage of gatored down players complaining about rappers overusing the word pimp and bringing amateurs to their tracks in tennis shoes and sweat suits. The irony of pimps complaining about experiencing even a TINY bit of exploitation never comes up.

Just finished Black Snake Moan...pretty good...the characters were fleshed out enough where you cared all the backstory you needed was given to you without a ton of flashbacks. I'll give it a 7.5/10 ....funny thing though Paramount called my ISP when I downloaded this. They must not have wanted me to get any ideas about chaining a white women to a pipe

Tamara- some teeny-bopper movie about a chick that's picked on in school and comes back to life to kill them. It was TERRIBLE.

"Hush Hush, Sweet Charlotte". That movie is intense and yes I got to admit it HILARIOUS. I love crazy Charlotte played by Bette Davis. WOW!

= UP THE ACADEMY --- Say it agaiiiinnn...This was a cult classic teen comedy made in 1980 by Mad Magazine. Like a combo of Taps and Animal House, the latter which defintely influenced Mad's production with the commercial success and totally un-PC subject matter. It deals with a group of cadets at military school including the sons of a Mafiosi (played by young Ralph Maccio), a Black evangelist, a politicain, and an Arab oil baron. All their crazy activities are followed by a hilariously sick & sadisic Commandant Liceman who terrorizes them. Co-stars Antonio Fargas, Barbara Bach (Ringo's wife) Tom Poston and many other names & faces you sort of recall. Any who enjoyed Superbad or moreso Porky's-type toilet & racial humor must check this but the easily offended ought to stay away, they savage everyone. Also have an incredible soundtrack featuring Cheap Trick, David Johansen & Sylvain Sylvain of The New York Dolls, Blow-Up (did the theme), Lou Reed, Iggy & The Stooges and more. Oh yeah, I watched it free in parts on Youtube, ha! And I don't want to give away much but; tickle yo ass with feather?...

I just saw Watchmen

I liked it. I tried to stay away from any reviews, so it wouldn't influence my $8 ( I don't see a lot of movies in the theater.)
The only thing i kept hearing was the blue guy walked around a lot with his blue thang hanging out, which is true. "That's why they call it Watch Men
Very violent and sexual. Definitely worth the R-Rating, this was no Spider-man. I know the graphic novel ony had twelve issues, but the story screams for some sequel, or prequel offshoots. I'd love to see a whole story on Rorshach (Kelly from the Bad News Bears)

I also watched Hamlet 2
That was hilarious. Not a perfect movie, but funny and a tad different.

I had the day off today so I declared it movie day watched 4 movies

Banlieue 13 (or District B13) - Mindless fun I liked the action decent story
Apocalypto - Liked it, beautifully filmed, good story
The Lucky Ones - Good film about people dealing with life coming back from the war a little drama a little comedy
The Wicker Man(The one from the 70's) Hmmm not sure how I feel about this one, think i was thrown by the random naked chic dancing towards the beginning
